Proceeds to benefit Williamsport Area Little League
The Williamsport Crosscutters have announced their 11th Annual Hot Stove Banquet with the Phillies will be held on Monday, January 16 in the Grand Ballroom of the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport. The event is presented in part by Panda Patriot Power, WRAK 1400AM, and the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.
Guests at this year's event include; Phillies manager Pete Mackanin, Phillies outfielder and former Cutter Roman Quinn, Cutters manager and former World Series MVP Pat Borders, and former Japanese baseball MVP Tom O'Malley. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Williamsport Area Little League.
The evening will consist of a full-course dinner, along with interviews and question and answer segments with many of the special guests, giving fans the opportunity to hear from Phillies players and staff about the upcoming season. There will also be both live and silent auctions of sports memorabilia.
One of the event highlights is the announcement of the latest inductee to the Bowman Field Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was started in 1989 by the Bowman Field Commission and the Williamsport Bills as a way to honor those who were influential and important to the history of Bowman Field and professional baseball in Williamsport. The latest inductee is expected to be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
The dinner and entertainment portion of the event will begin promptly at 6:30 PM, preceded by an hour of mingling, fun and games with Boomer and the Phillie Phanatic. A limited autograph session will take place at the close of event.
Tickets are $55 per person and can be purchased by calling the Cutters offices at (570) 326-3389 or ordering online at www.crosscutters.com. This event is a virtual sell-out every year, so fans are encouraged to purchase tickets now. Seating will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Business sponsorships for the event are also available.
The Crosscutters 2017 season opens on Monday, June 19 in State College.
