CLINTON, IA (Nov. 21, 2016) - Friday marked a busy day for three former LumberKings. First, 2016 standout RHP Zack Littell was traded to the New York Yankees in exchange for LHP James Pazos. A move that was followed hours later by a five-player trade between the Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays that included 2016 Midwest League All-Star first basemen Dalton Kelly and 2012 LumberKing RHP Andrew Kittredge. The Mariners will receive 25-year old infielder/outfielder Richie Shaffer and 27-year old infielder/outfielder Taylor Motter from the Rays.

Littell, 21, began the 2016 season with the LumberKings and was a staple in the starting rotation during the team's first half success. In 16 starts for Clinton the righty went 5-5 with a 2.76 ERA (30 ER/ 97.2 IP) and 95 strikeouts. From June 1-17 Littell put together the team's longest scoreless inning streak of the season, not allowing a run in 17 straight innings of work.

Kelly, 22, spent the entire 2016 season with the LumberKings earning a Midwest League All-Star selection. The first basemen spent much of the season in the middle of Clinton's lineup, batting .293 (141/481) with seven home runs and 58 RBI.

Kittredge, 26, pitched for the LumberKings in 2012 during his second season of professional baseball. The righty opened the season on the Clinton roster appearing in five games as a reliever and going 1-0 with a 0.84 ERA (1 ER/ 10.2 IP) and 16 strikeouts. Kittredge spent the 2016 season pitching for the Jackson Generals (AA) and Tacoma Rainiers (AAA) in the Mariners organization.

All three of the players the Mariners received have experience at the big league level. Schaffer highlights the bunch as the 25th overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft.
