Columbus Clippers Announce 2017 Field Staff
Manager Chris Tremie returns with most of his staff

COLUMBUS, OH - The Back-to-Back-to-Back West Division Champion Columbus Clippers are pleased to announce the 2017 field staff which will be led for a Clippers record fifth consecutive season by Manager Chris Tremie.

Tremie enters his 12th season in the Indians organization, all as a manager. He guided Double-A Akron to the Eastern League Championship in 2012 before joining the Clippers in 2013. The Houston, TX native has led the Clippers to the playoffs in three of his four years at the helm and a Governors' Cup in 2015. He has a combined record of 315-261 with Columbus.  

Steve Karsay will once again tend to the pitching staff in his 2nd season in Columbus as pitching coach. Karsay led a staff that finished with a 3.65 ERA and boasted two 11-game winners (Mike Clevenger & Ryan Merritt). Rouglas Odor returns for his 3rd year as the Clippers hitting coach. Under the tutelage of Odor, Columbus hit .260 (3rd) banged out 129 home runs (T-1st) and scored 631 runs (2nd). They lead the International League with a team SLG% of .400. Chad Wolfe will also return to Columbus as the Clippers trainer.

New to the Clippers staff this season of Bench Coach Jerry Owens and Strength and Conditioning Coach Scott Nealon.

Owens recently retired from playing from the Mexican League in which he spent the last 4 seasons, after playing a combined seven years with the Montreal, Chicago White Sox, and Seattle organizations. His playing career included parts of four seasons in the Major Leagues with the White Sox. Owens is a native of Santa Clarita, CA and has one daughter.

Nealon replaces Ed Subel as the Clippers Strength and Conditioning Coach. Nealon was previously the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Akron Rubber Ducks.

Clippers President and General Manager Ken Schnacke said, "We are thrilled that Chris Tremie is returning for a fifth season as our skipper, and also welcome back the core of our staff. We extend a Clippers welcome to new bench coach Jerry Owens and welcome Scott Nealon who replaces Ed Subel, who has been promoted to minor league strength coordinator for the entire Indians system."
