Carson Kelly (above) is one of eight former Spikes on MLBPipeline.com's list of the Cardinals' top 30 prospects.

Eight State College Spikes alums rate among the top 30 prospects in the St. Louis Cardinals system, according to MLBPipeline.com's latest rankings headed into the spring.

The stable of former Spikes is led by 2nd-ranked Carson Kelly, who made his major league debut with the Cardinals on September 5 of last year. 5th-ranked Harrison Bader, who smashed two home runs in his professional debut with the Spikes in 2015, is the other top-ten Cards prospect to have passed through State College on his way up the organizational ladder.

Four members of last year's New York-Penn League champions are in the Cardinals' top 30 as well. Pitchers Jordan Hicks (18th), Connor Jones (22nd) and Ronnie Williams (25th) join 2016 NYPL All-Star catcher Jeremy Martinez (30th) on the list.

Two players from the Spikes' other NYPL championship team in 2014 also occupy spots on the countdown. Infielder Edmundo Sosa and pitcher Austin Gomber went back-to-back, ranking 13th and 14th respectively.
