JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Director of Broadcasting and radio play-by-play announcer Roger Hoover will join the Miami Marlins next week to broadcast four Spring Training games on Marlins.com and the MLB At Bat app.

Preparing for his sixth season in Jacksonville, Hoover, 28, will join Kyle Sielaff, host of Marlins On Deck on the Marlins Radio Network, for audio webcasts of Miami's Grapefruit League games against the Washington Nationals (Thursday, March 9, 1:05 p.m.), Minnesota Twins (Friday, March 10, 1:05 p.m.), Houston Astros (Saturday, March 11, 1:05 p.m.), and St. Louis Cardinals (Sunday, March 12, 1:05 p.m.). This is the second season that Hoover will announce games for the Marlins, after calling three games for the big league club last year.

Fans can listen to the webcasts on Marlins.com, MLB.com, or the MLB At Bat app on smartphones or tablets.

"I'm thrilled to head back to spring training with the Marlins for this week of broadcasts," Hoover said. "I'm grateful to Kyle and the Marlins Radio Network for this opportunity, and it will be great to see players we've had in Jacksonville shine during these major league games. I also look forward to visiting with Jumbo Shrimp manager Randy Ready and seeing players that will spend their season with us at the Baseball Grounds."

A native of Kingsport, Tennessee, and 2010 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Hoover is entering his 10th season broadcasting professional baseball, with previous minor league stops with the Tennessee Smokies and the Kingsport Mets. In the baseball offseason, Hoover is in his third year as the radio play-by-play announcer for University of Alabama women's basketball on the Crimson Tide Sports Network. He also provides play-by-play for SEC Network+ broadcasts of college baseball, basketball, softball, and soccer, with all broadcasts available on the Watch ESPN app.

"Roger gives fans an excellent window into Jacksonville baseball through game broadcasts and social media, and he has unique knowledge from his experience covering the Marlins organization," said Jumbo Shrimp General Manager Harold Craw. "We are excited that Marlins fans will again get to hear some of what Jacksonville fans get to enjoy throughout 140 games of the Jumbo Shrimp's inaugural season."

Broadcast information for this upcoming season of Jumbo Shrimp baseball will be released closer to Opening Day, which is April 6 against the Mississippi Braves at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi at 8 p.m. ET.
