Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs will host a Coaches Clinic, presented by Maine Medical Center, for baseball and softball coaches on Sunday, April 9th at Hadlock Field from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The clinic includes a ballpark style picnic and ticket to the April 9th Sea Dogs game. The clinic is open to baseball and softball coaches of all levels.
The Portland Sea Dogs' Coaching Staff will be on hand to teach the fundamentals and development strategies of baseball including pitching, hitting, athletic training, and player development. The Sea Dogs' coaching staff consists of manager Carlos Febles, hitting coach Lee May Jr., and pitching coach Kevin Walker. In addition to the Portland Sea Dogs coaching staff, a softball pitching instruction station will be provided by Maine Hits. Sea Dogs athletic trainer Scott Gallon will also speak to the group about the dangers of dehydration, concussions, and other safety protocols.
The Coaches Clinic will be held at Hadlock Field prior to the Sea Dogs game against the Reading Fightin Phils scheduled for 1:00 PM. Check-in is at 8:30 AM, followed by the clinic from 9:00 AM to 11:00AM. At the conclusion of the clinic, participants are invited to the Coca-Cola Picnic Area. This is an opportunity to network with other participants and coaches. An All-You-Can-Eat picnic buffet will begin at 11:30 AM followed by the game at 1:00 PM.
