Keys and Wood Ducks Suspended Saturday Night

Game Will Resume In Bottom of Eighth Inning

KINSTON, N.C.- Prior to the bottom of the eighth inning on Saturday night, the power went out in part of Grainger Stadium. Due to that, the Frederick Keys and Down East Wood Ducks game was suspended with the Wood Ducks leading 4-0. The game will be resumed at 2:00 p.m.

KINSTON, N.C.- Prior to the bottom of the eighth inning on Saturday night, the power went out in part of Grainger Stadium. Due to that, the Frederick Keys and Down East Wood Ducks game was suspended with the Wood Ducks leading 4-0. The game will be resumed at 2:00 p.m. in the bottom of the eighth.
The Wood Ducks got on the board in the bottom of the fourth. Following a walk to Leody Taveras, Anderson Tejeda hit a two-run home run to right field off of Keys starter Ofelky Peralta .

Down East would add another run in the fifth inning on another home run. Melvin Novoa launched his second homer of the year to left field to make it a 3-0 lead. The Wood Ducks fourth run was scored on a single from Novoa off of Keys reliever Matt Trowbridge .
In the game, Peralta produced a quality start, allowing three runs over six innings. He walked three and struck out three. Steven Bruce fired six shutout innings, allowing three hits while walking one and striking out two.
Following the conclusion of game one, the Keys and Wood Ducks will play their regularly scheduled game two. Right-hander Lucas Humpal (1-5, 4.86) will take the mound for the Keys. He will be opposed by Wood Ducks right-hander Emerson Martinez (2-4, 4.53). The game can be heard on frederickkeys.com and the TuneIn Radio app.
