State College, P.A.- Three different Cutters hitters recorded three hit nights in Williamsport's 5-3 win over State College.

Francisco Morales looked to get back on track in his 10th start of the season, in a ballpark he has had some success in before. He was able to work around a lead off single in the top of the 1st inning, and was handed multiple leads, but the young right-hander had trouble keeping those leads intact.
Keudy Bocio gave the Cutters a 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning, singling home Jonathan Guzman, who had singled earlier in the frame, sparking the Cutters offense.
The Spikes answered in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a solo home run from Brady Whalen to knot the game at 1-1. It was the third home run that Morales had allowed this year.
Ben Pelletier responded in the top of the 3rd inning with a blast of his own, traveling 412' over the wall in left, nearly hitting the scoreboard with his 6th home run of the season, tying him for the team lead with Ben Aklinski and also giving him his team-leading 29th RBI, making it 2-1 Williamsport.
In the bottom of the frame, Morales walked Wadye Ynfante with two outs and then gave up back-to-back singles, including a RBI single from Stanley Espinal to tie the game at 2-2.
Williamsport finally took the lead for good in the top of the 4th inning, plating two runs on an RBI double from Ben Aklinski and a RBI single from Jake Holmes to up their advantage to 4-2. Aklinski improved his RBI total to 20 and Holmes upped his RBI total to 4.
Morales was a victim of a pair of Jake Holmes errors in the bottom of the 4th inning, allowing an unearned run to score and cut the Williamsport lead to 4-3, but Morales would be able to work out of the frame keeping the lead.
The elevated pitch count chased Morales after throwing 78 pitches of 4.0 innings of work. Morales allowed three runs, two earned, while limiting the walks to just one and striking out six batters in a no decision.
Austin Ross took over in the bottom of the 5th inning, working 2.2 innings of scoreless relief, striking out four Spikes batters and working around a hit and a walk in the process of earning his first win for the Crosscutters.
Robinson Martinez took over with two outs in the bottom of the 7th inning and proceeded to work 2.1 innings of scoreless relief, striking out four and working around a base hit and a walk as he earned his first save with Williamsport.
Jesse Wlkening provided a huge insurance run in the top of the 9th inning, singling home Jake Holmes to make it 5-3 Cutters on the 6th RBI of the year for the Crosscutters catcher, who came up big for the second time in three games for the Crosscutters in late-inning scoring chances.
The Crosscutters wrap up their two-game series with the State College Spikes tomorrow night, first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
