Nova, Hudson made mark in Triple-A, Majors
The set of nominees for top Triple-A starters includes Ivan Nova of Scranton/WB, who dominated Triple-A before joining the Yankees' pennant chase. Jeremy Hellickson could have an equally big role with the Rays after a dominant season with Durham. Daniel Hudson was fantastic for Charlotte before a July trade to Arizona. A triumvirate of starters -- Brandon Dickson, Michael Kirkman and Anthony Lerew -- bucked the trend of high scoring in the PCL. More »





A pair of Suns shined bright in Double-A
Two of the top Double-A hurlers, Tom Koehler and Elih Villanueva, helped lead Jacksonville to the Southern League championship. Left-hander Douglas Arguello of the Corpus Christi Hooks earned Texas League All-Star honors, while the Eastern League contributed three superlative pitchers: Harrisburg lefty Tom Milone, top right-handed prospect Kyle Drabek of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and southpaw Rudy Owens of the EL champion Altoona Curve. Rays prospects up for top Advanced pitchers
The Charlotte Stone Crabs rode starters Joseph Cruz and Matthew Moore -- who led the Minor Leagues with 208 strikeouts -- all the way to the Florida State League Finals in 2010. Clearwater's Austin Hyatt was named FSL Pitcher of the Year, while Anthony Bass of Lake Elsinore put up outstanding numbers in the hitter-friendly California League. In the Carolina League, Randall Delgado and Joseph Gardner posted eye-popping ERAs. More »





Terrific field up for top Full Season starter
Former 31st-round pick Matt Magill held Midwest League hitters to a .194 average as his Great Lakes Loons piled up a Minors-best 90 wins. Fellow Midwest aces Ian Krol of Kane County and Erasmo Ramirez of Clinton also led their clubs into the playoffs. Hickory's Robert Erlin and Armando Rodriguez of Savannah led the Sally League in ERA and strikeouts, respectively, while Augusta's Jorge Bucardo notched nine wins in just 18 starts. More »





Two Cyclones hope to spin way to Short Season choice
Teammates Yohan Almonte and Angel Cuan finished one-two in the New York-Penn League ERA race while leading Brooklyn to the championship series. Spencer Arroyo's 86 strikeouts between Bristol and Great Falls were second-most in the short-season leagues, while Jheyson Manzueta yielded only 27 hits in 46 2/3 frames. Enny Romero lost just one of his 14 starts, and Josh Hungerman did not allow a homer while pacing the Northwest League in ERA. More »
