  • Omaha Alums Battle For WBC Title Tonight

    Earlier this month, there were 16 teams vying for the World Baseball Classic Championship. And now there are only two: the United States and Puerto Rico.   • 5 Assigned To MiLB Camp By Royals

    The Kansas City Royals announced on Monday evening they have sent five players to minor league camp. Among that group are pitchers Bobby Parnell and Chris Withrow, catcher Parker Morin, as well as infielders Ryan O'Hearn and Garin Cecchini. Most, if not all, of that group are likely to begin 2017 in Omaha. In addition, the club announced they have released southpaw Jonathan Sanchez from his contract. MORE »
  • Royals Option Six Players To Omaha

    The Kansas City Royals on Friday optioned six players to Omaha's roster, five of whom played for the Storm Chasers last season. Among the group is Triple-A All-Star hurler Andrew Edwards, catcher Cam Gallagher, 2016 Omaha Player of the Year and infielder Hunter Dozier, infielder Ramon Torres, as well as outfielders Jorge Bonifacio and Bubba Starling. All six are also rated as top 30 Royals prospects by Baseball America. MORE »
  • Colton Dixon To Perform August 12

    The Omaha Storm Chasers have announced that Colton Dixon will perform a post-game concert as part of Faith & Family Night at Werner Park on Saturday, August 12. The concert is presented by Boys Town, celebrating their 100th anniversary, in association with Media Partner 100.7 The Fish. The concert will take place on the third base concourse following the Storm Chasers' contest against the Iowa Cubs, which is slated to begin at 6:05 p.m. MORE »
  • Royals Option 3 Pitchers To Omaha

    The Kansas City Royals announced on Monday they have optioned right-handered pitchers Miguel Almonte, Jake Junis and Kevin McCarthy to the Storm Chasers' roster. All three pitched for Omaha at some point during the 2016 campaign, totaling 52 appearances between the trio. MORE »
  • Dozier, Junis Earn Top Royals MiLB Honors

    The Kansas City Royals on Monday announced the winners of their minor league honors from the 2016 season, with a trio of Storm Chasers players from last year recognized.Infielder/outfielder Hunter Dozier was tabbed the George Brett Hitter of the Year, while right-hander Jake Junis earned Paul Splittorff Award honors and righty Yender Caramo received the Carlos Fortuna Award.   • 9 Chasers Among Top 30 Royals Farmhands

    Nine of Baseball America's top 30 Royals prospects for the 2017 season have worn a Storm Chasers jersey in their careers, while several others are sure to arrive at Werner Park during the upcoming season.   • Spring Training Update: March 9

    While several Storm Chasers alums and Royals players now joining their respective World Baseball Classic teams for the tournament, Cactus League play continues to press on. The Royals entered their offday on Thursday with a 7-5 clip in Spring Training, though it should be noted that Spring Training records mean as much as the points on Whose Line Is It Anyway. MORE »
  • Royals Reassign Nine To MiLB Camp

    The Kansas City Royals announced on Wednesday they have reassigned nine players to minor league camp. Those players include 2016 Storm Chasers pitchers Jonathan Dziedzic and Luke Farrell. In addition, right-hander Kyle Zimmer was optioned to Double-A Northwest Arkansas. MORE »

    Master Builders rejoice. The 2017 LEGO Play Ball Tour, which will offer fans an interactive building experience for families to enojy together, will visit Werner Park this summer from June 9-11.   • 89 Omaha Alums Report To Spring Training

    One of the most anticipated dates on the early baseball calendar has arrived, as players officially begin reporting for Spring Training. Of the hundreds of players reporting to Big League camps in Arizona or Florida to get their first bullpen or batting practice session in are 89 Omaha alums, whose seasons span from 2000 to just last season.
