CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Corpus Christi Hooks begin their Grapefruit League schedule Thursday, March 17, and will play 16 games in Florida to prepare for the 2011 campaign.

New manager Tom Lawless leads the Hooks into battle on March 17 against the Harrisburg Senators, the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, at the Astros minor league complex in Kissimmee.  All games in Florida get under way at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The schedule features five games each against Harrisburg and the Mississippi Braves (Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves) and four games against the Erie SeaWolves (Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers).  The Hooks also play one game each against their Triple-A (Oklahoma City) and Advanced-A (Lancaster) brethren.  The Hooks do not have a spring training game against any Texas League club.

The first full-squad workout for Astros minor leaguers is Wednesday, March 9.

The regular season gets under way Thursday, April 7, when the Hooks travel to Tulsa to face the Drillers at ONEOK Field.
