Frisco RoughRiders
FRISCO, TX - Frisco left-hander Martin Perez was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week, the Texas League office announced Monday afternoon. Perez tossed the second perfect game in RoughRiders' history Tuesday night against the Arkansas Travelers. In that game, Perez pitched five perfect innings and struck out three. The game was called after inclement weather hit the North Little Rock, Ark., area in the top of the sixth with Frisco leading 1-0. On the season, Perez, the top prospect in the Texas Rangers' organization according to Baseball America, is 1-0 with a 1.38 earned run average over three starts. He is tied for second on the team with 15 strikeouts. Perez gets the call again Monday night in San Antonio as the RoughRiders open a four-game series with the first-place Missions. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
