GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers rebounded with a vengeance after being shut out on Saturday night. The Rattlers knocked 16 hits and scored 12 runs to defeat the Quad Cities River Bandits 12-3 Sunday afternoon at Time Warner Cable Field. TJ Mittlestaedt and Nick Ramirez both drove in four runs to pace the offense. Brooks Hall picked up his sixth win of the season by allowing one run over five innings.

Mittelstaedt gave the Timber Rattlers (58-61 overall, 20-29, second half) a 1-0 lead in the first inning. He lifted a 3-2 pitch from Quad Cities starter Ryan Copeland over the wall in right field for his tenth home run of the season.

Quad Cities (69-49, 29-20) loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the second inning against Hall. A sacrifice fly by Chris Edmondson scored the tying run, but Hall got out of the inning without giving up another run.

Hall was in trouble a couple more times, but he stranded a pair of runners in the third, worked around a leadoff double in the fourth, and a one out double in the fifth.

The Rattlers offense broke out in the bottom of the fifth inning, but needed some two-out hits to break the tie.

Franklin Romero started the inning with a single and stole second. Mike Brownstein's single sent Romero to third. But, with two outs, both runners were still at the corners. Jason Rogers beat out an infield single to score Romero and put the Rattlers in front 2-1. Ramirez was next and he lined a double to the wall in right that scored both runners. Greg Hopkins dropped in a bloop single to score Ramirez for a 5-1 Rattlers advantage against Copeland.

Angel De Jesus relieved Copeland for the bottom of the sixth. He hit the first batter and walked the second batter of the inning. But, with two outs, Wisconsin had runners at second and third. Then, the barrage of two-out hits began again. Mittelstaedt singled in two runs. Chad Stang's infield single put two runners on for Jason Rogers.

Rogers lined a double off the wall in left field to drive in Mittelstaedt. Ramirez was next and his single to center sent two more Rattlers across the plate for a 10-1 lead.

In the seventh, Brownstein and Mittelstaedt had consecutive RBI singles to put the Rattlers up 12-1.

Hall left after five innings. He allowed a run on five hits, walked three, and struck out four. He qualified for the lead with the offensive explosion.

Quad Cities scored a pair of runs off reliever Casey Medlen in the top of the eighth. Medlen had worked 2-2/3 scoreless frames before the Bandits got consecutive RBI hits in the eighth. Seth Lintz came out of the Wisconsin bullpen get the final out the eighth and work a 1-2-3 ninth to finish off the River Bandits.
