08/24/2011 10:45 PM ET
Las Vegas broke open a close game with a five-run fourth inning, as the 51s cruised to a 10-1 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday night. Las Vegas led 1-0 when Ricardo Nanita and Jason Lane delivered RBI singles and Ryan Shealy capped off the rally by driving a 2-1 pitch from Bear Bay over the left field wall for a three-run homer. The Bees had nine hits, but scored only one run, as they hit into three double plays. The one run came in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Paul McAnulty.

Bay (8-9) took the loss, as he went six innings and allowed seven runs on 12 hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Andrew Romine reached base in all five of his plate appearances with two singles and three walks. Efren Navarro led the Bees with three hits, including a double and a triple. The loss was Salt Lake's 73rd of the season, which guarantees just the third sub .500 season in the franchise's 18-year history.
