READING, Pa. -- The Reading Phillies, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, and Clear Channel Communications have announced that all R-Phils games this season will be carried by 1340 WRAW-AM. In addition to the complete 142-game Eastern League schedule, the R-Phils broadcast schedule on WRAW also includes the April 3 222 Showcase against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the July 10 Baseballtown All-Star Home Run Derby, and the July 11 Baseballtown All-Star Classic. "WRAW is ecstatic to be carrying every Reading Phillies game this season, in addition to the Baseballtown All-Star Classic and All-Star Home Run Derby," said Market Manager John Rizzuto. "Between a mix of classic hit songs, Penn State football and basketball, and now the R-Phils, WRAW is a station that folks across Berks County will be listening to all year long." Live coverage begins 30 minutes prior to the start of each Reading Phillies game with the pre-game show. On Fridays, the pre-game show is expanded to an hour, featuring never-before-heard interviews with R-Phils players, coaches, and special guests. Based in Reading, WRAW-AM reaches an eight-county radius including Berks County. "We couldn't be happier to have our Reading Phillies games, and Baseballtown All-Star Classic events, carried by 1340 WRAW this season," said Reading Phillies General Manager Scott Hunsicker. "Over the years, the Reading Phillies have enjoyed a tremendous relationship with WRAW's sister station Y102 (WRFY-FM), and we are looking forward to strengthening that relationship with Y102 and WRAW even more with this announcement." Returning to the R-Phils radio broadcast team for his third season is play-by-play announcer Brian Seltzer. A 2007 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Seltzer is currently in his seventh season providing play-by-play for the school's men's basketball team since his junior year of college. He also is the announcer for Penn Quakers football games. Currently, Seltzer co-hosts the Eagles Pre-Game show on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia. Previously, he was the station's Eagles Beat Reporter, where he received two Philadelphia Achievement in Radio (A.I.R.) awards in the category of 'Best Sports Reporting'. His Eagles coverage has resulted in local and national appearances on Comcast SportsNet, ESPN, ESPN News, and have been cited by mainstream sports websites ESPN.com and ProFootballTalk.com. |
