McDade Homers Twice in Doubleheader Sweep05/24/2012 12:02 AM ET

McDade's first blast, his seventh, came in the first inning of game one with the Fisher Cats trailing 1-0. A two-out single by Brian Van Kirk set McDade up for the first pitch home run into the Dinner in the Den to put
After the Sea Dogs rallied for three runs against Deck McGuire (ND) in the third, the Fisher Cats, on a two-out double by Van Kirk tied the game in the fifth at 4-4. McGuire left after five, allowing four runs on six hits without taking a decision.
It remained a 4-4 game until the eighth when the Sea Dogs scored three runs against Ronald Uviedo (L; 2-2). Glenn pulled the Fisher Cats closer in the bottom of the inning with his sixth homer of the season, but Caleb Clay (Save, 4) retired the next three batters to preserve the 7-6, extra-innings win.
In the second game,
After starter Billy Buckner left the game, Ochinko cut the Fisher Cats deficit to a single run with a one-out home run in the seventh before relief pitcher Josh Fields (Save, 3) recorded the final two outs to secure the sweep.
Buckner (W; 3-3) earned the win for Portland in game two, limiting the damage to McDade's solo home run over 6.0 innings. Everts took the loss giving up one run in three innings of work in his first start of the season.
McDade finished the twin bill with three hits - two homers and a double - and three RBI. He was on base an additional two times, walking and being hit by a pitch in game one. He is now hitting a team-high .335 on the season.
