By Reading Phillies
(Reading, Pa.)---In conjunction with the Eastern League, the Reading Phillies have announced the Eastern and Western Division rosters for the Baseballtown All-Star Classic, including six Reading Phillies named to the Eastern Division roster. The Baseballtown All-Star Classic will be played at FirstEnergy Stadium on Wednesday, July 11 at 7:05 p.m. The top stars and prospects from the twelve Eastern League teams will highlight the Baseballtown All-Star Classic. The two-day event pits the Eastern League's Eastern Division (Reading Phillies, Trenton Thunder, New Britain Rock Cats, Binghamton Mets, Portland Sea Dogs, and New Hampshire Fisher Cats) against the Western Division (Akron Aeros, Harrisburg Senators, Bowie Baysox, Erie SeaWolves, Altoona Curve, and Richmond Flying Squirrels) in a nine-inning showcase. Members of each team will also be participating in the Baseballtown All-Star Classic Home Run Derby and Autograph Session benefitting the United Way of Berks County one night prior to the game on Tuesday, July 10 at 7:05 p.m. The Eastern and Western Division rosters are each comprised of 24 players with at least three players from each team. At least one position player and one pitcher representing each team were selected through online and stadium balloting. Remaining roster spots were then filled through voting by Eastern League media, managers, and officials. Reading Phillies manager Dusty Wathan and his coaching staff will lead the Eastern Division against the Western Division led by Richmond Flying Squirrels manager Dave Machemer and his coaching staff.
