Cingrani, 22, was recognized after striking out a team-record 15 batters on June 22 against the Jackson Generals in his eight innings of work. He yielded just five hits while issuing just one walk. The 15 punchouts set a new single-game career-high for the left-hander, topping his previous mark of 13 set in 2011.

The southpaw is rated by MLB.com as the 10th best prospect in the Cincinnati Reds' system and, as of July 2, owns a 2-1 record and 2.15 ERA in his five starts with Pensacola since being promoted from High-A Bakersfield on June 1. The 22-year-old's 38 strikeouts since June 1 lead the Southern League since that point.

The New Lenox, Ill. native was drafted by the Reds in the 3rd round out of Rice University.

Blue Wahoos starter Daniel Corcino was honored by the Southern League as Pitcher of the Week for the week ending June 17 after working the first eight innings of the first no-hitter in team history. Right-hander J.C. Sulbaran was also recognized by the league earlier this year for the same award, meaning a total of three Blue Wahoos pitchers have earned league recognition this season.
