Missions shutout Naturals

San Antonio, TX- The San Antonio Missions topped the Naturals 2-0 on Tuesday night at Wolff Municipal Stadium. The loss drops the Naturals to 1-4 on their six game road trip.

The Missions (37-43) got on the board first against Naturals' (41-40) starter Ethan Hollingsworth in the bottom of the sixth inning. Nathan Frieman and Cody Decker each singled to put runners on first and third with no one out. Jake Blackwood grounded into a double play that scored Frieman to make it a 1-0 game.

Keyvius Sampson (4-7) went six innings for the Missions allowing just one hit, walking one and striking out three. The lone hit he allowed was a single by Carlo Testa in the top of the second inning.

Hollingsworth (0-4) turned in his best start of the season. The right-hander went a season-high six innings allowing just one run on six hits and struck out a season-high five.

Dean Anna delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make it 2-0. After the allowing the single to Anna, Bryan Paukovits got a double play to avoid further damage.

The Naturals will wrap up their three-game series in San Antonio tomorrow night at 5:05 PM. Left-hander Chris Dwyer (5-7, 5.09) will take the mound for the Naturals against the Missions left-hander Andrew Werner (2-8, 3.62). The game can be heard on ESPN 92.1 The Ticket.
