(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) A peanut-free night, a Thirsty Thursday, two Ford Fireworks shows and more will be packed into a four-game Lexington Legends homestand Wednesday through Saturday at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

The Legends, an affiliate of the Houston Astros, will take on the West Virginia Power, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, at 7:05 p.m. each night. West Virginia is in first place in the South Atlantic League Northern Division, and the Legends are tied for second in the Southern Division, four and one-half games behind first-place Rome.

"We're coming down the home stretch of the 2012 season," said Legends General Manager Seth Poteat. "Just as the Legends continue to play great ball, we continue with a jam-packed and exciting promotional schedule. There's truly something for everyone this home stand: fireworks, drink specials, giveaways and in-game entertainment. It's going to be a great week at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, on and off the field!"

The schedule:

Wednesday, August 8: Legends vs. West Virginia, 7:05 p.m. The Legends and Family Allergy & Asthma are teaming up to provide a fun, worry-free evening for those with peanut allergies. At one game each year, the Legends remove all forms of peanuts, sunflower seeds and any foods prepared with peanut oils, so that fans may enjoy the game - and the concessions -- without concern about a possible allergic reaction. Also on Wednesday, Meijer presents Free Hot Dog Night for Kids. Fans may visit a Meijer store and pick up a voucher for a free hot dog. This is the last Meijer Free Hot Dog Night for 2012.

Thursday, August 9: Legends vs. West Virginia, 7:05 p.m. Every Thursday home game is a Thirsty Thursday at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, presented by Urban Active. Fans can enjoy beer and Pepsi products for one dollar each.

Friday, August 10: Legends vs. West Virginia, 7:05 p.m. Friday is Reading Night, presented by Harris Family Dentistry. Five thousand reading posters and 1,000 toothbrushes will be given away as fans come through the gates. Also, the first 1,000 fans age 12 and under will receive a chest protector backpack giveaway. In addition, the Legends' "Big L" invites everyone to help him celebrate his birthday Friday night. A Ford Fireworks show will follow the game.

Saturday, August 11: Legends vs. West Virginia, 7:05 p.m. The Fur Circus (www.thefurcircus.com) will provide entertainment, and another Ford Fireworks show will follow the game. Boy Scouts will camp out at the ballpark after the game.
