The Tri-City Dust Devils lost their final home game of the season 4-2 to the Eugene Emeralds in front of record-breaking crowd at Gesa Stadium on Sunday night. Tri-City (30-41) set the team's single-game attendance record with 3,871 fans and also broke a season attendance record with 86,095 fans this season.
The Emeralds (44-27) struck in the eighth inning for three runs off of Tri-City reliever Ryan Arrowood (3-3), capturing a lead that they would not surrender. The biggest blow in the inning came from Jeremy Baltz, who drove in two runs with a double. The Dust Devils were silenced at the plate by reliever Juan Marcano (4-4). The lefty picked up the victory after tossing 5 2/3 scoreless innings, while only allowing two hits. Dust Devils starter Roberto Padilla did his part, giving up only one run in six innings of work. Padilla earned a no-decision.
Francisco Sosa scored both of the runs for the Dust Devils. He got aboard after an error by Eugene third baseman Gabriel Quintana in the second inning and scored on a sacrifice fly by Derek Jones. In the fourth inning he would score from third base for Tri-City's last run of the game after a fly ball was dropped by the right fielder Edwin Moreno.
The Dust Devils and Colorado Rockies announced Sunday that the two clubs signed a two-year extension to their Player Development Contract. The Dust Devils have been aligned with the Rockies since their inception in 2001.

Ben Hughes will start the first game of the series. The Volcanoes will counter with right-hander Joe Biangini. First pitch on Tuesday is set for 6:35 p.m.
