09/25/2012 2:30 PM ET
FRESNO, Calif. - The Grizzlies Community Fund (GCF) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Central California Farm Grown Drawing Contest. The four winners are (ages): Jeanette (8), Jose (9), and Wendy (8) from Kirk Elementary in Fresno and Rhett (9) from John Adams Elementary in Madera. Each student's drawing will be featured in a special section of Central California Farm Grown Magazine, the new Farm Grown website, and the Fresno Grizzlies website. Also, the winners will receive a pass into Parker's Prospects for the 2013 season.

"It was a tough decision selecting winners from all the great artwork we received from the students", said Whitney Campbell and Ryan Moran from the Fresno Grizzlies Community Relations department. "All the contestants showcased the local farming community in beautiful ways with their drawings, and we are so happy with the participation from the community. "

The contest, which was open to children throughout the Central San Joaquin Valley, asked students to draw what they view as being "Farm Grown."

The Central California Farm Grown program is the newest component under the Grizzlies Community Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Farm Grown has been created to promote the agricultural heritage and philanthropic vitality of the Central San Joaquin Valley through the building of meaningful partnerships in support of education and healthy eating.
