10/27/2012 7:30 PM ET
Salt River 12, Mesa 6
Trayce Thompson -- the No. 1 White Sox prospect -- launched a two-run homer in the fifth inning and finished 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored to help the Rafters maintain their spot at the top of the Arizona Fall League East Division standings. The blast was Thompson's second in three games after failing to go deep in his first six contests. Tyler Bortnick (D-backs) broke out with a 4-for-5, four-RBI performance in the victory. The second baseman had only four hits and zero RBIs in his first half a dozen contests for Salt River. D-backs No. 19 prospect Chase Anderson (2-0) took the win after striking out eight and allowing two runs on four hits and no walks in four innings. Bobby Borchering (Astros) hit a two-run homer for the Solar Sox. Recap | Gameday box score

Scottsdale 8, Phoenix 8
Angels No. 7 prospect Travis Witherspoon and Indians farmhand Carlos Moncrief hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning, and the Scorpions added three more runs in the seventh. But the Desert Dogs answered with three tallies of their own in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game that eventually ended in a stalemate after 10 frames. Brewers prospect Josh Prince started the Phoenix rally with an RBI single in the eighth and finished 3-for-6 with a double and two runs scored. Recap | Gameday box score

Surprise 4, Peoria 1
Cardinals prospect Boone Whiting struck out four and induced three inning-ending double plays over four scoreless frames to lead a Saguaros staff that shut down a Javelinas offense that has been the most powerful in the AFL. Red Sox farmhands Chris Martin (two innings, four strikeouts) and Pete Ruiz (one inning, two strikeouts) combined on three hitless innings in relief. Mike O'Neill (Cardinals) was a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Surprise offense. Padres No. 6 prospect Cory Spangenberg provided the Javelinas' only run with a solo homer in the ninth.
