Kaminska proves baffling for Scottsdale

Pirates prospect Kyle Kaminska limited Peoria to one hit while striking out six and not issuing a walk over five innings for the Scorpions. Giants' top prospect, Gary Brown, led off for the Scorpions and went 3-for-4 with a run, while Yankees third baseman David Adams doubled twice and drove in three runs. San Diego shortstop Jeudy Valdez doubled in the only Javelinas run and Padres reliever Kevin Quackenbush struck out two in a perfect ninth to maintain a 0.00 ERA for the Fall League season through seven appearances. Surprise 7, Mesa 2
Seth Blair (Cardinals) held Mesa to a run on five hits and two walks while striking out three over four innings to lead Surprise in a 7-2 victory. Mets outfielder Darrell Ceciliani went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs and a walk leading off for the Saguaros, while Rangers first baseman Chris McGuiness plated a pair of runs on two sacrifice flies. Another Texas farmhand, shortstop Hanser Alberto, went 2-for-4 with an RBI to raise his AFL average to .333. Salt River 9, Phoenix 2
Rockies outfielder Kent Matthes swatted his third homer of the Fall League season, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored while Toronto's Kevin Pillar went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run as Salt River handled Phoenix, 9-2. No. 7 White Sox prospect Carlos Sanchez and Colorado catcher Lars Davis each pitched in two RBIs for the Rafters, as well, and second-ranked Blue Jays prospect Jake Marisnick went 2-for-4 with a run driven in. Nationals right-hander Ryan Perry earned the win, yielding just one hit without any walks while striking out three in five innings. Rays' top prospect Hak-Ju Lee collected two hits and scored once and No. 7 Brewers prospect Hunter Morris doubled in a pair of runs for the Desert Dogs. Recap | Gameday box score
