Funneman joins PBUC in full-time role 12/05/2012 6:27 PM ET

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Minor League Baseball announced today that Tyler Funneman, who joined Professional Baseball Umpire Corp. (PBUC) on a part-time basis in June, is now a full-time field evaluator/instructor. Funneman will observe, instruct and evaluate Minor League Baseball umpires throughout the 16 domestic-based leagues. "Tyler has proven to be a valuable member of our staff in the short time that he has been with us and has earned the opportunity to work with our umpires on a full-time basis," said Justin Klemm, executive director of PBUC. The Grays Lake, Ill., resident umpired in the New York-Penn, Midwest, Florida State, Texas, Pacific Coast and Venezuela Winter Leagues. Funneman also earned invitations from Major League Baseball to work in the Arizona Fall League and Major League Spring Training. |
