CORPUS CHRISTI - The Ninth South Texas Winter Baseball Banquet is set for Wednesday, January 23, at the Omni Bayfront Hotel.

The Corpus Christi Hooks’ annual celebration of our national pastime at the high school, collegiate and professional levels is presented by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and ClearChannel Radio. Start time is 6:30 p.m.

Ticket sales begin Monday, December 10, at the Whataburger Field box office. To order by phone call 361-561-HOOK (4665). Cost is $50.

Banquet honorees will be announced over the course of the next two weeks:

Friday, Dec. 7 -- Preseason High School Baseball All-Stars/Large School (4A/5A) and Small School (A/2A/3A/privates)
Monday, Dec.10 -- Preseason High School Softball All-Stars/ Large School (4A/5A) and Small School (A/2A/3A/privates)
Thursday, Dec. 13 -- Lifetime Achievement Award & Featured Speaker      
Monday, Dec. 17 -- Mike Adams Award - South Texas Professional Player of the Year                
Wednesday, Dec. 19 -- A&M-Corpus Christi and A&M-Kingsville Players of the Year
Friday, Dec. 21 -- Large and Small School Coaches of the Year
