Sadler Silences Squirrels in Win

RICHMOND, Va. - Casey Sadler's comfort away from home continued on Friday night with the right hander spinning seven scoreless innings to lead the Curve by the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 2-1, in the first game Altoona's seven-game road trip. In his last two road starts, Sadler (5-3) has not allowed an earned run in 15 combined innings.

Streaking Curve Ride Cutler's Lightning to 6-2 win over Thunder

Charlie Cutler was 3-for-3 with three RBI while David Bromberg dealt five hitless innings of relief to pilot the Curve to a, 6-2, series-clinching victory over the Trenton Thunder in front of a season-best crowd of 6,855 at Peoples Natural Gas Field on Thursday. Pittsburgh Pirates RHP Charlie Morton continued his major league rehab assignment on Thursday, going four innings and throwing 61 pitches. He gave up a pair of runs, both coming on solo homers, but those were the only hits he allowed on the day.

Thunder Halts Curve Streak on Wednesday

CURVE ,Pa. - Stolmy Pimentel allowed six runs for a second-straight start and the Curve were unable to come all the way back in a, 6-4, loss to the Trenton Thunder on Wednesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. The loss snapped the Curve's three-game winning streak and also a seven-game win streak versus the Thunder that dates back to August of 2012.

CURVE, Pa. - The Curve took advantage of nine walks from the Trenton Thunder pitching staff in a, 5-3, victory on Tuesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Mel Rojas, Jr. had the big hit a two-run single that put the Curve in front for good in the bottom of the third inning. With the win, the Curve have won three straight games for the first time in 2013.

CURVE, Pa.- Charlie Cutler delivered a pinch-hit, walk-off win for the Altoona Curve, who defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Cutler drove a pitch from Phil McCormick (1-2) to deep center field and Jarrett Parker appeared to make the catch but the ball popped out of his glove allowing Andrew Lambo to score the game-winning run from second base.

Curve Split Twinbill with Squirrels

CURVE, Pa. - After dropping the first game of a doubleheader, 5-0, on Saturday night, the Curve were able to down the Flying Squirrels, 5-3, in the second game of the night to earn a split on the day. Rehabbing Pirates second baseman Neil Walker played as scheduled on Saturday, playing all seven innings in game one and taking two at bats in the second game. On the day, Walker was a combined 2-for-5 with two singles.

CURVE, Pa. - The Curve pounded out nine runs on 15 hits on Thursday night to defeat the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 9-8, at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Neil Walker, who began his rehab assignment on Thursday night with the Curve, was 1-for-4 with a double and played six innings in his first game since suffering his hand laceration on April 26. Andrew Lambo, Mel Rojas, Jr. and Adalberto Santos all had three hits apiece to lead the Curve.

HARRISBURG - Jarek Cunningham untied a 6-6 game in the top of the 10^th inning with a solo home run to left-center field that catapulted the Curve to a, 7-6, win on Wednesday afternoon at Metro Bank Park. Altoona carried a two-run lead into the ninth inning before Harrisburg's Anthony Rendon tied the game with a two-run homer to force extras. It is the Curve's second extra-innings win this season in Harrisburg and their third overall win in extras.

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Harrisburg used a four-run fourth inning to catapult itself to a, 13-2, victory over the Altoona Curve on Tuesday night at Metro Bank Park. Andrew Lambo hit his sixth home run of the season and his third of the road trip in the loss. Curve starter Jameson Taillon (2-4) ended his outing early on Tuesday after being struck by a comebacker on the left leg in the fourth inning. He was taken out as a precaution and has a left shin contusion.

Stolmy Pimentel (1-0) turned in another scoreless outing and received plenty of support from his offense in the Curve's, 6-2, series-ending win on Wednesday morning at The Diamond. Pimentel shut out the Squirrels over six innings to earn his first win of the season and has allowed just one run in 23.1 innings pitched this season.
