Selected by the Pirates in the 2nd round of the June 2004 June First-Year Player Draft...signed by Duane Gustavson...played three seasons of NCAA baseball at Eastern Michigan University (2002-04)...finished career as the Eagles' all-time leader in runs scored (194) and 2nd on the school's all-time list in hits (258)...as a junior in 2004, finished 2nd in NCAA Division I with a .453 average and set single-season school records for hits (110), runs scored (74) and stolen bases (31)...ranked 13th in the NCAA in runs per game (1.25) and 25th in stolen bases (0.53 per game)...named the 2004 MAC Player of the Year and was selected as a first-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger and the American Baseball Coaches Association...became the first player in MAC history to collect over 100 hits in a single season and set a conference record with a 32-game hitting streak during the 2004 season...earned 2004 Academic All-MAC team honors...as a sophomore in 2003 was a Second-Team All-Conference selection and was the Most Valuable Player of the MAC Tournament...hit .322 during his freshman campaign en route to being named the 2002 MAC Freshman of the Year and a Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American...2001 graduate of Perkins High School in Sandusky, Ohio...resides in Sandusky, Ohio.
