Graduated from the same high school as NFL stars Donovan McNabb and Simeon Rice, and NBA forward Antoine Walker... Attended the University of Miami in Florida, where he earned 2005 ACC Pitcher of the Year honors... was also named All-ACC and First Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association in 2005...
