2016 Highlights
Did not play after undergoing Tommy John surgery on August 4, 2015.
2015: Split the year between Triple-A Louisville and Cincinnati before undergoing season-ending surgery on his right elbow on August 4... Opened the year with Louisville, where he posted a team-high 11 saves and tied for the team lead with 17 games finished...His 11 saves ranked third in the International League when he had his contract selected by the Reds on June 7...Retired 10 of the first 13 batters he faced with Cincinnati and posted a 3.24 ERA in seven relief outings...Placed on the disabled list on July 30 and was transferred to the 60-day DL on August 19 with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
2014: Made 18 relief appearances at Triple-A Round Rock and seven relief outings for the Texas Rangers...Began the year on Round Rock's disabled list after undergoing thoracic outlet surgery on March 13...Made his first appearance of the season on June 5...After 13 appearances, was promoted to Texas on July 24...Made each of his appearances for the Rangers between July 26 - August 13...Returned to Round Rock on August 14 and spent the rest of the season there.
2013: Split the season between Triple-A Omaha in the Kansas City system and Triple-A Reno in the Arizona system, going 8-6 with a 6.67 ERA in 19 games (seven starts)... Was a non-roster invitee to Kansas City's Major League Spring Training camp...On June 6, was designated for assignment and a week later was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks...Spent the rest of the season in Reno.
2012: Spent most of the season at Omaha, but made two starts and 10 relief appearances during six separate stints with the Royals...Lost both starts with Kansas City, but posted a 1.32 ERA as a reliever...At Omaha, ranked second on the staff in starts (18) and fourth in wins (eight).
2011: Spent the season on Kansas City's roster after he was selected from Pittsburgh in the Rule 5 Draft...Tossed a scoreless inning in his first career appearance, March 31 vs. the Los Angeles Angels...Earned his first MLB victory, April 30 vs. Minnesota...Earned his first MLB save in a 10-3 win vs. the Chicago White Sox, September 17...Pitched for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League following the season and was selected to participate in the Rising Stars Game.
2010: At Class-A Bradenton, ranked among the Florida State League leaders in wins (11, tied for second), starts (26, tied for sixth), innings pitched (141.1, ninth), and strikeouts (113, ninth)...Named a Florida State League midseason All-Star...Went 3-1 with a 2.23 ERA (9 ER, 36.1 IP) and 39 strikeouts in six May starts...Selected by the Royals in the Major League phase of the Rule 5 Draft, December 9.
2009: Combined to finish 8-9 with a 5.29 ERA in 28 games (23 starts) with Class-A High Desert in the Seattle system and Class-A Lynchburg in the Pirates organization...Acquired by the Pirates, along with SS Ronny Cedeno, C Jeff Clement, RHP Brett Lorin and RHP Aaron Pribanic, in exchange for SS Jack Wilson and RHP Ian Snell, July 29.
