Signed by the Chicago Cubs as a nondrafted free agent, June 28, 2007. ... Gonzalez joined the 2010 Chiefs out of extended spring training on May 14 and finished the season with the best ERA of any Chiefs reliever having at least 50 innings pitched. ... Overall, he was 2-2 with a 2.89 ERA and four saves in 56 innings, which were spread out over 36 appearances. ... Gonzalez struck out 40 and walked just 16 while surrendering just two home runs all season. ... He went more than one inning on 14 occasions and twice threw three innings in a game. ... Gonzalez earned saves in consecutive outings on June 8 against Lansing and June 12 against Great Lakes. ... He made 23 appearances without a decision before a loss to Quad Cities on Aug. 7. ...
