Selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 28th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Minnesota. ... Was named first-team All-Big Ten Conference in 2007 and 2008, joining Terry Steinbach (1981-83) and Jack McCartan (1956-58) as the only Golden Gopher third baseman to earn multiple first-team honors. Hit .359 with six homers, 22 doubles, 32 RBIs and 47 runs scored in his final season with Minnesota, leading the conference in doubles, tying for third in total bases (118) and ranking 10th in slugging percentage. ...
