2014: Split the campaign between Class-A Frederick and Double-A Bowie, as he combined to hit .257 with one home run, 24 RBI and 23 stolen bases in 99 games...His 23 steals ranked 5th among Orioles minor leaguers...Opened the season with Bowie where he hit .282 and posted a .335 on-base percentage in 61 games...Batted .320 (32-100) against right-handed pitching while with the Baysox...Joined Frederick on July 22...Swiped 15 bases in just 38 games with the Keys, ranking him second on the club for the season.
2013: Stole 43 bases for Frederick, the second-highest total for a Frederick player since 1994 and the seventh-most steals in a season in Keys history...Finished third in the Carolina League in stolen bases…Also appeared in 18 games with Double-A Bowie, where he hit .283 with a .406 OBP.
2012: Ranked second among Orioles minor leaguers in stolen bases (28) for the year...Set Frederick franchise record with six hits in a game May 17 at Potomac…Hit .338 with 15 runs scored in 19 July games...Finished tied for 4th on the team in walks (35).

PERSONAL: John William Ruettiger was selected by Baltimore in the 8th round of the 2011 draft...Drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 35th round of the 2008 draft but did not sign...Attended Arizona State University, where he was named First Team All-Pac-10 and Second Team ABCA All-West Region his junior year (2011)...Won the 2009 Cape Cod Summer League batting title and appeared in the league's All-Star Game at Fenway Park...Attended Joliet Catholic Academy (IL), where he served as the team captain in both football and baseball...Started at quarterback and helped lead Joliet Catholic to a state championship in 2007...His uncle is Dan "Rudy" Ruettiger, who played football at Notre Dame from 1974-75 and whose life is the subject of the 1993 movie, "Rudy".
