Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 43rd round of the 2008 MLB Draft from Campbell Hall School (Studio City, California) but did not sign... was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Campbell Hall High in North Hollywood... played for the North Coast Knights of the Prospect League... enrolled at USC (Southern California) in 2009... transferred to the University of Pennsylvania and sat out the 2010 season... graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in the Ivy League with a B.A. in Commerce and Communication in 2012... returned to USC as a redshirt senior in 2013 and was one of 15 finalists for the TD Ameritrade Fan's Choice Award... was top 30 candidate for the Senior CLASS Award for his efforts on and off the field...
