Selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 13th round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of Adelphi University. ... Led Class A Greenville and tied for second among Red Sox farmhands in strikeouts in 2011. He also ranked ninth in the South Atlantic League in ERA. ... Was rated by Baseball America as having the best control in the Red Sox system following the 2011 season. ... Went 5-2 with two saves and a 2.24 ERA in 13 appearances (10 starts) as a senior at Adelphi. Led the team with 76 1/3 innings and 83 strikeouts and was named team MVP...in 2012 tied for High-A lead with 2 complete games...placed 5th among Carolina League qualifiers and 3rd among Red Sox minor leaguers with a 3.46 ERA (56 ER/145.2 IP), while finishing both 3rd in the CL and in the system with 11 wins... In 2013, tied for the most wins in the Red Sox system (11) and ranked among Eastern League leaders in ERA (6th, 3.47) and winning percentage (T-1st, .786)...  In 2014, went 8-2 with 1 save and a 2.96 ERA (33 ER/100.1 IP) in 18 appearances (17 starts) for Double-A Portland, missing over a month of the season on the disabled list.
