2017: Attended spring training with Arizona but was released on 3/28; signed as a minor league free agent with Cincinnati on 4/21... Split the year between Triple-A Louisville (eight games, five starts) and Cincinnati (25 games, eight starts)... Went 2-0 with a 2.05 ERA with Louisville, holding International League batters to a .207 average (24-116)... In five starts with Louisville, went 1-0 with a 1.40 ERA (4 ER, 25.2 IP) while holding opponents to a .172 average (16-93)... Went 4-3 with a 6.50 ERA with Cincinnati, posting 4.00 ERA as a reliever and an 8.41 ERA as a starter... Made his Reds debut as a reliever on 5/20 vs. Colorado and earned first MLB victory, retiring first 11 batters he faced... 2014: Suffered a right lat strain while throwing a bullpen session prior to Spring Training, which caused him to begin the regular season on the Major League Disabled List...Sent on a rehab assignment on 5/21 and started for Triple-A Oklahoma City, tossing 4.0 innings; sustained a right forearm flexor strain in that outing and was shut down for nearly a month...Returned to the mound on 6/18 at Reno and made two starts before being activated from the DL and optioned to Triple A OKC...Had a run of 80.1 innings pitched without allowing a home run from 6/27/13-6/23/14.
2013: Set a Corpus Christi franchise record by going 33.0 consecutive innings without allowing a run...Tanked tied for first in the Pacific Coast League in complete games (2) and shutouts (1), and ranked third in WHIP (1.19).
PERSONAL: Randall Asher Wojciechowski was signed by Baltimore as a minor league free agent on 12/1/17...Last name is pronounced WOE-juh-HOW-ski...Originally drafted by Toronto in the 1st round (41st overall) of the 2010 draft out of The Citadel, where he majored in Business Administration...Was the first player from The Citadel to ever be taken in the first round of the MLB draft...Named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year during his junior year in 2010 after finishing second in the nation with 155 strikeouts and ranking fifth in the country with 12 victories (tying a school record)...Lived in the Dominican Republic, Bulgaria and Romania as a child as his parents, Randy and Carol, were missionaries...Asher was nine years old when the family moved to Romania, and he was able to play baseball in Bucharest when Little League Baseball expanded into the country...Graduated from Beaufort High School (SC)...Acquired by Houston from Toronto, along with RHP Francisco Cordero, OF Ben Francisco, RHP Joe Musgrove, C Carlos Perez, LHP David Rollins, and a PTBNL (RHP Kevin Comer) in exchange for RHP David Carpenter, LHP J.A.
