  • Attended Illinois Central College (East Peoria) for two years and the University of Indianapolis (IN) for two years


  • Pitched for the Evansville Otters of the (independent) Frontier League … went 3-2, 5.46 in 10 games (four starts) … allowed 30 hits and 16 walks while striking out 41 batters in 29.2 innings


  • Returned to the Frontier League, splitting the season between Evansville and the Windy City ThunderBolts … went a combined 11-5, 3.35 in 19 starts … in 118.1 innings, allowed 110 hits and 47 walks while striking out 97 … signed by the San Diego Padres as a non-drafted free agent, October 18. 2010


  • Split his first season on San Diego's farm between the padres' two Single-A Clubs (Fort Wayne and Lake Elsinore) … went a combined 7-8, with a 3.23 ERA … struck out 107 batters while walking just 26 in 136.1 innings … also made three postseason starts for Lake Elsinore (0-2, 2.50) as the Storm captured the (Advanced-A) California League championship … 


  • Opened the season in the Texas League with the San Antonio Missions and would end the season in the Major Leagues with the Padres … pitched for San Antonio through late July before being promoted to (Triple-A) Tucson … … with San Antonio, matched his season high with eight strikeouts, ironically enough, against the RockHounds (July 15 at San Antonio) … was promoted to the Major Leagues August 22 and made his debut with the San Diego Padres (at Petco Park) that day against Pittsburgh, and earned the win (Padres 4, Pirates 2) … would become the first pitcher in Padres history to go at least six innings and allow two runs or fewer in each of his first four starts



  • Following his trade to Oakland, spent the entire season in the (Triple-A) Sacramento RiverCats rotation


  • Appeared in seven Cactus League games for Oakland, and had an outstanding spring … pitched a combined 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits … no walks and two strikeouts … faced the Giants, Rangers, Cubs (twice), Diamondbacks and Reds (twice)
