Drafted by the New York Mets in the 16th round of the 2011 Draft from Odessa High School (Odessa, TX)... received a $25,000 signing bonus... debuted with Rookie-level Kingsport in 2012... returned to Texas Tech to play football (WR) on July 28, 2013 while with Kingsport... competed in baseball, football (running back) and track in high school... was considered one of the premier running backs in the state with a No. 29 national ranking according to Rivals... became Odessa's all-time leading rusher, passing Bryon Townsend with 3,250 career rushing yards, led team to Bi-District titles in 2008 and 2009, District 2-5A champions in 2009, two-time All-State selection in football and a state qualifier in track and field in 2011 (long jump) and a regional qualifier in track in 2009 and 2011... full name is Bradley Jerrill Marquez, born December 14, 1992, in Odessa, Texas... son of Veronica Marquez... an exercise and sports science major at Texas Tech... prior to the start of the 2014 season, he announced that he would stop playing baseball in the summer to concentrate on football... went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft but signed with the St. Louis Rams... appeared in all 16 games as a rookie with the Rams in 2015, making one start... he finished the 2015 NFL season with 13 catches for 88 yards and also had 11 tackles on special teams... played in 14 games with the Rams in 2016, collecting three catches for 37 yards... was released by the Rams on Nov. 6, 2017 following a stint on injured reserve... signed with the Detroit Lions on Nov. 10, 2017 and was added to the Lions' active roster on Nov. 27... appeared in one game for the Lions in 2017 and one more in 2018 but did not record any stats... was waived by the Lions on Sept. 11, 2018... returned to baseball in 2019 when he signed with the Mets again as a free agent on April 8, 2019... was assigned to Class A Columbia to begin the 2019 season and went 1-for-2 with a double and a run in his debut... the start was his first MiLB game since July 28, 2013.
