2019
♦ Opened the year with Triple-A Pawtucket, going 0-5 with a 10.01 ERA in eight games (seven starts). Was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on 5/17 and claimed by the Cubs on 5/18. Baltimore claimed him off waivers on 5/22 and optioned him to Norfolk. 
♦ Went 3-5 with a 4.62 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 14 games (12 starts) with the Tides. 
♦ Named International League Player of the Month in August after going 3-1 with a 1.62 ERA (6 ER, 33.1 IP), 30 strikeouts and a .181 opponents average over five starts. Was the first Tides player to earn an IL Player of the Month award since Travis Ishikawa in May, 2013. 
♦ Was named International League Player of the Week on 8/4.
♦ Turned in a 7.0-inning complete game win, 8/24 at Charlotte. 
♦ Allowed two hits over 8.0 shutout innings in his final start with Norfolk, 8/30 vs. Charlotte.

2016
♦ Split the year between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket in the Red Sox system, going 2-3 with seven saves and a 2.81 ERA over 40 appearances. 
♦ His 40 appearances tied for the most among Red Sox minor leaguers. 
♦ 29 of his 40 appearances were scoreless (18 of 22 with Portland, 11 of 18 with Pawtucket).
♦ His seven saves tied for 8th among Red Sox farmhands. 
♦ Did not allow an earned run over his final 12 outings with Portland (13.2 innings). Followed that by not allowing a run over his first three outings with Pawtucket (7.0 innings). 
♦ Pitched for Escogido of the Dominican Winter League after the season.


2015
♦ Combined to go 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA in 35 appearances between Greenville and Salem. 
♦ Went seven-for-seven in save opportunities. His seven saves tied for 5th among Red Sox minor leaguers. Also tied for 9th among Sox farmhands with 35 appearances. 
♦ Named Red Sox Relief Pitcher of the Month in August/September, finishing with a 1.88 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 10 appearances (allowed three earned runs over 14.1 innings).
♦ Pitched for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League. Made nine appearances.


2014
♦ In first pro action, posted 4.05 ERA in 16 games (one start) for Class-A Lowell. 

 

PERSONAL
♦ Claimed by Baltimore off of waivers from the Chicago Cubs on 5/18/19.
♦ Originally selected by Boston in the 13th round of the 2014 draft. Selected by the White Sox in the 41st round of the 2011 draft but did not sign. 
♦ Attended the University of Kentucky, where he went 13-6 with a 3.46 ERA in 60 career appearances from. Was a teammate with Pirates IF JT Riddle and Giants RHP Trevor Gott.
♦ Was a Cape Cod League All-Star for the Harwich Mariners in 2013. 
♦ Attended Lawrence County (KY) High School, where he played baseball (was on the varsity team for six seasons), basketball, football, track and golf. During his senior season, he went 12-1 with a 0.65 ERA and threw two no-hitters. He finished his high school career with 512 strikeouts (2nd all-time in state history) and 40 wins (5th all-time in Kentucky history). He also set a state record with 46 consecutive scoreless innings pitched. Had Tommy John surgery in 2009, performed by the Cincinnati Reds' Dr. Tim Kremchek. 
♦ His hometown of Louisa, KY, had a population of just 2,467 at the 2010 census.
