2018: Opened the year in the Yankees system, beginning the season with Scranton/WB before joining New York on 4/7. Designated for assignment on 4/22 and was claimed off of waivers by Baltimore on 4/24... Batted .195 with three home runs, 28 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 93 games for Baltimore... His 13 stolen bases set his MLB career-high. Stole two bases on 8/26 vs. the Yankees for his first career multi-stolen base game in the big leagues... Homered in back-to-back games (6/17 vs. Miami and 6/19 at Washington)... Played at six different positions for the O's, including SS (two games), 3B (five games), RF (15 games), 2B (19 games), LF (21 games) and even appeared as a pitcher in the 8th inning of a 19-3 blowout loss to Boston, 9/26, surrendering four runs on six hits and a home run... Went 2-4 with a double and a season high four runs batted in, 6/17 vs Miami.
PERSONAL: Claimed off of waivers from the New York Yankees, 4/24/18. Resigned by Baltimore as a minor league free agent, 11/20/18... Originally drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 1st round (58th overall) of the 2011 draft... Traded by the Padres to the Atlanta Braves, along with LHP Max Fried, OF Dustin Peterson and OF Mallex Smith, in exchange for OF Justin Upton and RHP Aaron Northcraft, 12/19/14... Attended McNeese State University (LA), where he set the school record with 78 career stolen bases over his three-year career and was All-Southland Conference First Team in 2010 & 2011. Also played football as a safety, notching one interception, four sacks and 74 tackles over three seasons. McNeese State has also produced two-time All-Star Clay Buchholz... Was a four-sport standout in high school at Hamilton Christian Academy (LA), where he was All-State in baseball, basketball and football. Also ran track.
