Undrafted out of Fairfield University... signed and played for the New York Federals and the Brockton Rox in the independent Can-AM League in 2011... played for independent Newark (Can-AM) and independent Florence (Frontier League) in 2012... signed with the Baltimore Orioles in 2013 and was assigned to Class A Delmarva... son of William and Beth Nathans... brother, John, played baseball at the University of Richmond and was drafted by the Red Sox... majored in economics at Fairfield... a two-time first team All-New England Prep, helped team to a Western New England Championship and also a four-year varsity soccer player, earning All-State honors... a member of the Fairfield Men's Soccer team for three seasons... finished his Fairfield career as the program leader in hits (263), doubles (61), and triples (10), second all-time in career runs scored with 141, one run shy of the program record, second all-time in career RBIs (155) and batting average (.352), fifth in career slugging percentage (.536), seventh in home runs (19) and was one of five Stags to have more than 100 RBIs and 100 runs scored in a career. Holds single game record for RBIs (9) and doubles (3)... hit his first career Minor League home run on April 16, 2013 against Kannapolis.
