Selected by the Mets in the 17th round of the 2016 Draft out of Franklin Pierce University... before college, he was an All-Area Second Team selection as a senior at Perkiomen Valley High School (Pa.), an All-League Second Team selection as a senior and was named team's Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman... played football at Perkiomen Valley... at Franklin Piece through the end of his sophomore season, was tied for 12th all-time in program history in home runs (18)... Through the end of his sophomore season, among program single-season records: was tied for second in triples (6, 2015), tied for fifth in home runs (13, 2015), tied for 10th in runs batted in (50, 2015), ranked 11th in slugging percentage (.656, 2015), ranked 13th in runs scored (54, 2015) and was tied for 16th in stolen bases (23, 2015).
