Signed with the Chicago Cubs as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Virginia on July 11, 2018... made his Cubs debut on July 12, 2018 in the Arizona League... in 2018 at Virginia, he was on the initial Johnny Bench Award watch list before hitting .226 with three homers and 18 RBIs... went 3-for-6 in ACC tournament and reached base safely in five of eight plate appearances in 2017... played at Connors State College in 2016, where he hit .404 with 12 homers and 67 RBIs, threw out 17 of 23 base-stealers and was named 2016 Spaulding NJCAA Division I Defensive Player of the Year, 2016 ABCA Rawlings Gold Glove at catcher and was a member of 2016 All-Region Team.

Attended Checotah (Oklahoma) High School where he was a three-time All-Big 8 Conference honoree, was named conference’s defensive player of the year in 2013 and player of the year in 2014... was also a four-year letter-winner in football (quarterback/linebacker); in his senior year in 2013, he passed for 2,100 yards and rushed for 1,000 yards, was named conference player of the year in football in 2013 and was named an All-Star by Class at QB by Oklahoma Coaches Association... earned McIntosh Country Athlete of the Year honors in 2014 and was also the valedictorian of his graduating class... son of Tommy and Ginger Knight... has a brother, Seth, and a sister, Natalie
