Selected in the first round (No. 12 overall) of the 2023 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks out of Stanford University... signed with the D-backs on July 17, 2023 and received a $4.4 million signing bonus... ranked as the No. 17 prospect in the 2023 Draft class by MLB.com... spent two summers in the Cape Cod League, earning top prospect honors in his second stint... moved from shortstop to third at Stamford in 2023, although MLB scouts viewed him as a second baseman... before Stanford, he attended Los Gatos High School in Los Gatos, Calif. where he guided his team to a 2018 Central Coast Section runner-up finish, was named Los Gatos Male Athlete of the Year (2020), participated in Future Stars Series, Perfect Game National and Area Codes Games (2020)... during high school, he also competed for Zoots (2016-17), NorCal (2018) and California Club Baseball (2019) at the club level... in 2016, he competed with USA Baseball's 2016 14U National Team Development Program... made his professional debut with the ACL D-backs on July 26, 2023

Played three seasons at Stanford, where he majored in science, technology and society from 2021-2023... hit .338 with 34 homers, 109 RBIs and 26 stolen bases in 162 games with Stanford... received numerous awards and honors at Stanford -- he was the Pac-12 team champion (2022), Stanford Regional All-Regional Team (2022), Karbach Round Rock Classic All-Tournament (2022) and was a Two-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll (2021-22)... as a Junior i2023, he was named to the Golden Spikes Award Watch List / Midseason Watch List, the D1Baseball Preseason All-America first team, the Baseball America Preseason All-America first team, Perfect Game Preseason All-America first team, NCBWA Preseason All-America third team and Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference team... son of Temple and Tommy Troy; he has one sister, Amaya
