His father, Manny Ramirez, was rostered as recently as 2021 with the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League as he sought to extend his baseball career into his late-40s following a long Major League career... Manny was drafted by Cleveland and made his debut there in 1993 before joining the Boston Red Sox in 2001; he helped the Red Sox win the World Series in 2004 and 2007 before joining the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2008. He finished his career with stints on the Chicago White Sox in 2010 and Tampa Bay Rays in 2011, although he continued trying to make it back to the Majors following a drug-related retirement -- in 2012, he signed a Minor League contract with the Athletics, played in the Dominican Republic and Taiwan in 2013, signed with the Texas Rangers later in 2013 and spent three seasons in the Chicago Cubs organization as a player-coach from 2014-16 with Triple-A Iowa... he signed with a Japanese team in 2017 before the Covid-19 pandemic muddied his plans to play in Australia.... he finished his Major League career with 2,574 hits, 555 homers, 1,831 RBIs and 1,544 runs...
