66ers Open Final Series with 9-2 Drubbing of JetHawks

Lancaster, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino opened their Labor Day Holiday weekend with excellent work in a 9-2 victory over the Lancaster JetHawks on Friday. The Sixers improved to 16-10 against the JetHawks on the year.
The Sixers got a run in the first when Jack Kruger doubled with one out and came home on Jared Walsh's RBI single against JetHawks' starter Brandon Gold (4-3). Inland Empire (65-74, 35-32) batted around in the third and scored five runs highlighted by Kyle Survance Jr.'s two run triple, Brandon Diaz's RBI double, Jordan Serena's RBI single and Walsh's second RBI single of the night as the Sixers built a 6-0 lead. Inland Empire starter Erik Manoah Jr. allowed a run on Wes Rogers RBI double in the fourth but earned his first Cal League win going five frames allowing the one run on three hits with three walks and one K. The Sixers blew the game open with three runs in the capped by Jahmai Jones' two-run double. Lancaster native Winston Lavendier tossed three scoreless innings in relief for Inland Empire allowing two hits and fanning a pair. The Sixers were 6-for-14 with runners in scoring position. Keith Greishaber had a three-hit game for the Sixers while Inland Empire had five doubles and triple in the affair. Rogers double for the JetHawks (76-61, 38-29) was the club's lone extra base-hit.
