Visalia Wins Second In Row Over Sixers

San Bernardino, CA- The Visalia Rawhide downed the Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino 9-1 on Monday. The loss was the Sixers second consecutive at the hands of the Rawhide and third overall. The Rawhide held the Sixers to just four hits for the second game in a row and have allowed just one run in 18 innings.
Visalia got an unearned run in the first inning then two more in the second on RBI singles from Matt McPhearson and Francis Christy making it 3-0 against Inland Empire starter Jose Rodriguez (5-5). Visalia made it 6-0 in the third powered by Jason Morozowski's two-run double. Mozorowski later tagged a two-run homer, his third of the year, and finished the day 3-for-4 with a walk and four RBI.
Inland Empire (27-31) did not score in the contest against Rawhide starter Ryan Atkinson (3-2) until the fourth inning with two outs. Kyle Survance Jr launched a solo homer to right to put the Sixers on the board and snap scoreless stretch that had reached 18 innings. It would be the lone run the Sixers got. Survance and Brennon Lund each had a pair of hits for the Sixers accounting for all four the club tallied. Atkinson went 7IP and gave up the run on four hits with two walks and nine Ks. He is now 2-0 versus the Sixers and has allowed just one run in 13 innings. Nick Baker and JR Bradley tossed a scoreless frame each for the Rawhide out of the pen. Christy joined Morozowski with three-hit games while McPhearson and Daniel Lockhart each tallied a pair of hits for Visalia (28-30). Inland Empire has now scored just one run in its last 24 innings.
