'Birds Dominate Back to Back

Norwich, C.T. - Aberdeen jumped on the Tigers early and often in this game scoring in 7 of the games 9 innings. The IronBirds smack Connecticut 12-2 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut.
FIVE RUN FOURTH: Aberdeen scored one run in each of the first 3 innings before exploding in the fourth. The IronBirds batted around to put up five runs. The firsts big hit cam from Santander who hit a 2 run double to burst things open. At the end of the inning Aberdeen held a commanding 8-0 lead.
PITCHING: The IronBirds used 3 pitchers to allow just two runs throughout the game. Blaine Knight rebounded from a tough first appearance to toss two shoutout innings.
He then handed the ball off to Hector Guance who went just over five innings to pick up the victory. The 6-6 righty struck out seven and allowed just three hits and two runs to secure the win.
Javier Echevarría came in to relieve Guance who gave up two runs in the eighth following leadoff walks. Echevarria sat down the final five hitters of the game to secure the win.
SOARIN' BIRDS: Since the All-Star break the IronBirds have averaged ten runs per game in three straight victories. 
SANTANDER THE AMAZING: Part of the reason for that has been Anthony Santander, who played in his third game of a rehab stint with the IronBirds tonight. After going 3 for 5 tonight with three RBI's, the outfielder is now hitting .500 in his last three games.
