IronBirds Take Second Straight From Renegades

Fishkill, NY - Behind six shutout innings from Scott Copeland, the Aberdeen IronBirds picked up their second straight win on Sunday night by a score of 5-2. 

The IronBirds struck first in the top of the second inning.  With Adam Gaylord at first base, David Anderson hit a two-run home run, his fifth of the season and it gave the IronBirds a 2-0 lead. 

In the fourth inning, the IronBirds added two more runs on three hits.  With one out and Blair Dunlap at second base Jeremy Nowak hit a triple that gave the IronBirds a three-run lead.  Then Austin Knight added another run for the IronBirds on a bloop single that scored Nowak and made it 4-0. 

The Renegades cut the lead in half in the eighth inning.  With the bases loaded, Phil Wunderlich hit a two-run double that score Robbie Price and Steve Tinoco and made the score 4-2. 

In the top of the 9th inning the IronBirds would add an insurance run on an RBI double by Jeremy Nowak.

Scott Copeland got the win going six shutout innings.  He allowed just five hits and struck out four batters. 

T.R. Keating pitched the final 1.2 innings to earn his third save of the year. 

The loss went to Devin Fuller who lasted just 3.1 innings and allowed four runs on six hits.
