Aces Continue Win Streak

July 13, 2013

For Immediate Release
July 13, 2013

TACOMA, Wash.-RHP Mike Bolsinger was stellar, as the Aces won their fifth-straight contest on Saturday night, in a 4-1 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium.

With the win, the Aces set a new high winning streak for the season, and secured their fourth series win. A win tomorrow would complete Reno's first sweep of the season.

Bolsinger allowed just five hits en route to the second complete game thrown by an Aces pitcher this season. The lone run he allowed was a solo home run by Scott Savastano in the second.

Despite missing two of their everyday players, with infielders Matt Davidson and Chris Owings in New York City for the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, the Aces offense continued their hot streak. Four Reno batters had a multi-hit game, with the first five batters in the lineup going 8x20 (.400).

Juan Rivera hit his third home run of the season in the fourth to give Reno a lead they would not surrender.

The series wraps up Sunday at Cheney Stadium, as the Aces look to complete their first sweep of the season. RHP Garrett Mock (6-4, 6.10 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while the Rainiers will counter with RHP Blake Beavan (3-2, 4.91 ERA). First pitch is slated for 1:30 p.m. PT and all of the action can be heard live on KPLY 630 AM.
